Access in Summary
Transport
There is a bus stop located on The Boulevard in the middle of the hospital campus with the route number 147 stopping here. Further bus stops can be found a short distance away on Oxford Road and Upper Brook Street.
Car Park and Drop Off
There are two large multi-storey car parks located at this site, one at each end of the hospital campus. Both car parks have a large number of accessible bays, with the one located at the Hathersage Centre having parent and child parking bays. Outside the main entrances to each of the hospitals on The Boulevard and outside the Children's Hospital entrance there are additional accessible bays and drop off points.
Access at Entrance
There is step free access to and through the entry doors to each hospital and department. The main hospitals have automatic doors, the entrances to each of the hospitals are situated side by side along The Boulevard and are accessed from a level pedestrian area. Weather protection is provided at each of the entrances. Signage is provided to help visitors identify each hospital.
Reception
There are receptions to most departments and wards with the majority of them having a low alternative for visitors. Some receptions have induction loops installed and seating is provided nearby for visitors to rest if needed.
Facilities
Toilets are located in each main hospital lobby. There are accessible toilets and baby changing/feeding room facilities at this location. Additional accessible toilets are located within most department reception areas.
