Access in Summary
Car Parking/Drop Off
Parking close to the Police Station is limited due to its location in the city of London. It may be possible to park on Snow Hill with prior arrangement.
Transport
There are good public transport links within reasonable distance of the Police Station. Buses stop on Holborn Viaduct to within approx 150 metres and the Thameslink rail service stops at City Station again on Holborn Viaduct. St Pauls London Underground Station is a little further afield at around 500 metres walk.
Access into main building
The public entrance into the building is located on Snow Hill. A slight incline leads up to the wide entry door which opens inwards onto a lobby area with seating. A further internal double door opens outwards with the reception area directly ahead. The entrance doors are very heavy and have little visual contrast. The seating in the lobby area may not be suitable for all users as it is at a fixed height with no armrests.
Reception
The public reception desk is located just inside the lobby entrance. An assistance button at accessible height allows visitors to request assistance. The reception desk is at 1.07m high. An induction loop is provided for users who may require it.
Facilities
The Police Station is manned 24 hours a day providing all Police Services. Only the reception area is accessible to members of the public.
Access to all areas
All public areas of the Police Station are on the ground floor with level access.
The small interview room at reception may be too small for some disabled users although alternative arrangements can be made.
