Once through the door there is a small lobby area, in this area there are 4 steps which have a handrail on each side. The steps lead into the reception area.
Circulation
The general circulation at the hotel is good, except in the basement area from the lift to the Chart Bar where there are very narrow corridors which might not be suitable for a wheelchair user. The doors at the hotel leading into public areas are wide enough for a wheelchair user.
Reception
The counter in the reception area is suitable for a wheelchair user. The reception has induction loops and there is plenty of seating in the reception area. The lighting in the reception is also suitable for its intended use.
Bars
There are 2 bars at the hotel. The Chart Bar is a traditional bar, it is located in the basement entry into this bar is though a single door which is wide enough for a wheelchair. There is also a wide range of seating available and the lighting is suitable for its intended use. The other bar is the cocktail bar which is on the ground floor next to the restaurant. The entrance doors are a set of double doors which are held open. There is a wide range of seating available at the bar and the lighting is suitable for its intended use.
Restaurants
There is one restaurant at the hotel called the Meridian Restaurant. It offers a self service buffet, the entrance to the restaurant is through a set of double doors which are left open. These doors are also the entrance to the cocktail bar. There is plenty of seating in the restaurant and the route to the restaurant is level access.
