Accommodation
The hotel has ten accessible bedrooms which are all located on the mezzanine floor. All of the bedrooms have an interconnecting room with one connecting to another accessible bedroom. They are also all fitted with powered bedroom doors and an intercom for staff to communicate with guests from outside the room. Six of the bedrooms have and en-suite with an accessible shower and four have a bath. Two off these bedrooms are fitted with a hoist which covers the bed, toilet and bath.
Car Parking/Drop Off
The hotel has a car park in the basement however there are only internal steps to the hotel. Additional pay and display spaces are available at the front of the hotel on level access lo the hotel entrance. There are two accessible spaces which are to the front of the hotel, outside of the entrance and on level access. The drop off point immediately outside of the hotel entrance on level is access.
Public Transport
There are bus stops and a tube station located approximately 350m from the hotel on Kensington High Street. Kensington High Street tube station is not a step free route. The route to the hotel is accessible however assistance is recommended as the final approach slopes down to the hotel and necessitates entering onto a road to maintain level access up to the hotel entrance.
Access into Hotel
The hotel is in a cul-de-sac location on Scarsdale Place which leads from Wrights Lane. There is level access from the drop off area to the hotel entrance. The entrance has a revolving door with double automatic doors positioned either side. All doors lead into the spacious hotel lobby.
Circulation
There is an excellent level of circulation through the hotel with all areas on level access. The majority of the facilities are located on the ground floor close to the main lobby area. The main entrances are open plan and powered doors are fitted to the accessible toilets and the lift lobby doors at mezzanine level.
Reception
There is a large reception counter which is the main feature of the hotel lobby. The reception has an accessible counter which is at the far end to one side. There is a induction loop facility available on both reception and guest services which is located within the lobby opposite to reception. The lobby is bright and spacious and affords a good level of circulation.
Bars
The Brassiere Bar and Restaurant is located close to reception. Formally a separate bar and restaurant, this is now one large area where drinks and food are served. There is full table service available which is also available during breakfast, which is on a buffet basis.
Restaurants
There are four areas where food is available. The Club Lounge is on level access close to reception. The Lounge is used for breakfast, available to guests staying in a Club room. The Lounge is a relaxed environment with a range of seating and tables for all users. Access to the lounge requires a room key card. CafeXpress is a bright open plan deli style Café located opposite to reception on level access. Food is available from the counter or adjacent cold cabinets. Alternatively a table service is available. The Brassiere is adjoined to the bar and is used fem breakfast to dinner. There are two open plan entrances to the Bar and Brassiere which are on level access. Breakfast is on an assisted self service basis, a full table service is in operation at all other times. There is range of seating and tables to suit all users. The final restaurant is Bugis Street which is a specialist oriental restaurant. This is located close to reception opposite to the Bar and Brassiere and is on level access with an open plan entrance. A full table service is available and a range of seating is available.
Health Club
A fitness room is available on the mezzanine floor opposite to the toilets and on level access via the lifts. Access to the room requires a door key card and the room is unsupervised. A beauty and wellbeing room is also available on the mezzanine floor and is on level access. Treatments are on an appointment basis and can be booked via Guest Services.
Business Facilities
The banquet and meeting rooms are located on the ground and mezzanine floors. There are two large rooms which can be subdivided into smaller rooms. Both areas are on level access with the mezzanine level accessible by the lifts. The doors between the lifts and the room at mezzanine level are powered. Both rooms have a lobby area and there is an induction loop incorporated into the acoustic system . The rooms can be arranged in a number of formats.
Staff: Languages spoken
The hotel has a good complement of staff who are on hand to offer assistance. The 24 hour assistance is available via the concierge. There are a number of languages spoken at the hotel although it is advisable to check in advance should a particular language be required.
