Transport
Buses run on a regular basis along Suffolk Street Queensway, this road runs parallel with the hotel entrance approximately 75 metres away. Buses serve all local areas and suburbs of Birmingham.
Car Park and Drop Off
There is a public Car Park underneath the Crowne Plaza, however there is no step free access to the hotel from the Car Park. There is a safe drop off point located immediately to the right of the hotel with step free access to the Main Entrance.
Access at Entrance
Access to the Main Entrance is available via an automatic powered revolving door. In addition there is an adjacent power assisted door available offering alternative access to the hotel reception lobby.
Both entrances offer level access to the hotel.
The exterior entrance to the Bar & Restaurant is located to the left of the main hotel entrance. The entrance is accessed via a manually operated revolving door and an adjacent accessible power assisted door.
Reception
The reception desks are located to the left of the Main Entrance. The desk is staffed 24/7 and staff are on hand to assist guests with anything from check in/ out to local information and visitor attractions/ shopping.
Facilities
The accessible toilet is located to the rear of the reception lobby. Drop down and grab rails are present and the fixtures and fittings offer a good level of visual contrast. There is an alarm cord available in the accessible toilet cubicle in case of an emergency. The baby change facility is located within the unisex accessible toilet at the rear of the Reception Lobby on the Ground Floor of the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
The gymnasium is located on the mezzanine floor of the hotel between the ground and 1st floor. There is a wide range of cardiovascular equipment available as well as a training bag and free weights. The gymnasium is free to use for all hotel guests.
All Conference and Boardrooms are located on the 1st floor. The rooms vary in size and style accommodating 10 - 300 delegates. The rooms can all be adapted to suit clients needs and the Crowne Plaza offer a variety of seating plans including boardroom, training and theatre style.
The b1 Bar & Restaurant is located on the ground floor of the hotel and can be accessed internally via the Reception Lobby or externally via its own independent entrance.
The restaurant serves a variety of hot and cold international cuisine and the Bar Area serves a wide range of hot and cold beverages and snacks throughout the day.
There are 12 accessible bedrooms available at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Birmingham City Centre. The rooms offer a good level of circulation and accessible wardrobes are available with pull down hanging rails. The en suite bathroom is accessed via a single, outward opening door which is of sufficient width to be accessible for all users.
Access to all areas
The passenger lifts are located to the rear of the Reception Lobby offering access to all upper conference and accommodation floors. The lift cars are of sufficient dimensions for intended use and exterior and interior call/ control buttons are located at an accessible height. The stairs also offer access to all upper accommodation and conference floors and are accessed directly from the Reception Lobby. There are handrails running the full length of the flight on both sides and nosings effectively highlight the step edges.
