Accommodation

There are eleven accessible bedrooms five located on the second floor and six located on the third floor. Three room have interconnecting rooms. All rooms have an accessible ensuite with level access shower. The rooms are bright and spacious and offer a good level of circulation. All of the bedrooms are located close to the lifts.

Car Parking/Drop Off

The car park is located to the rear of the hotel and is accessed by barrier control. There are three accessible spaces which are located directly outside the rear hotel entrance. There is a drop off point immediately outside the front entrance which provides level access to the automatic entrance doors.

Public Transport

The hotel operates a free shuttle service to Canary Wharf and to Royal Victoria Docklands Light Railway Station. This is an accessible station with lifts from street level to the platform. The station is approximately a ten minute walk. At this moment in time the route is not accessible owing to construction works.

Access into Hotel

There are two entrances to the hotel, the main entrance on the front elevation is situated on Western Gateway. There is level access to the entrance which is a wide level opening with automatic doors. During inclement weather the doors need to be activated by one of the control buttons located either side of the door. There is an inner lobby door which is also automatic or operated by a button, again located to either side of the door. The entrance leads directly into the reception lobby. The rear entrance leads from the car park and is located in the middle of the accessible spaces. There is a slight incline in the short approach which is on a shallow gradient. The entrance consist of double glass doors. Should assistance be required there is a buzzer located to the right of the door. There is a further set of double doors which provide access into the reception lobby.

Circulation

There is step free access to all areas within the hotel and all floors can be accessed by lift. There is good lighting and a good level of visual contrast throughout. All areas are identified by signage. Supplementary directional signage is positioned in strategic locations throughout. The majority of the main public areas are open plan and accessed from the reception lobby.

Reception

The reception is located just inside the main entrance and rear car park entrance. The reception has a low level counter located close to the doors leading to the car park. There is an induction loop available. The reception lobby is light and spacious and seating is located nearby. Close to reception is a cash machine, male and female toilets, and a unisex accessible toilet.

Restaurants

The Docklands Bar & Grill serves traditional British and European dishes as well as some delicious new creations, all at good value. Key is that all ingredients are locally sourced, fresh and of the best quality. The seasonal menu with daily changing food and wine specials will be served throughout the day until late in the restaurant and the bar, as well as on the covered terrace. Whichever you choose, the knowledgeable staff will be there to serve you in a friendly way. Features are two conservatories with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the historic Royal Victoria Dock, the O2 and Canary Wharf, perfect for romantic dining or a group booking. Health Club

The Quad Health and Fitness Club has a swimming pool, gymnasium, spa pool, steam room and male and female saunas within the general changing rooms, located on the first floor. There is no public lift access to the first floor changing rooms however assisted access via staff lifts is possible. There is a secure accessible changing facility located poolside which also has an accessible toilet and shower within the same cubicle. There is a ladder into the pool which is 1.2m in depth.

Business Facilities

The Meeting Success Conference Centre has eleven meeting and conference rooms all of which are located on the first floor and accessible via the main lifts. There are toilets on the first floor including a unisex accessible toilet. There is a large bright open plan reception and breakout area. All areas are on level access and have wireless access to the internet. Induction loops and other communication services are available and can be booked in advance.

Staff: Languages spoken

The hotel has a good compliment of staff with a sound awareness on the facilities offered. Staff assistance is available throughout the hotel and there is a range of languages spoken including: Afrikaans, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Japanese, Polish, Spanish, and Zulu. It is advisable to check with the hotel in advance should a particular language be required.
