Accommodation
The hotel has fifteen rooms which have been adapted for people with disabilities. Six of the rooms are accessible for wheelchair users, four are accessible for ambulant disabled people and five rooms have facilities for the deaf and hard of hearing. The rooms of which have been adapted for wheelchair users five of them have roll in showers, the sixth room has a bath. The accessible rooms are located on the first and second floor. Eleven of the bedrooms have an interconnecting room.
Car Parking/Drop Off
There is no car park at the hotel. There is an on street drop off point outside of the hotel where it is possible to drop off onto the pavement. Care should be taken as this is a busy road. There is level access from the drop off point to the hotel entrance.
Public Transport
There are three bus stops within 2-3 minutes of the hotel on Aldwych. The route is level access from the bus stops to the hotel entrance.
Access into Hotel
The hotel has two entrances which are both on Aldwych. The main entrance is not step free however there is an adjacent step free entrance. The main entrance is manned most of the time, should assistance be required. The step free entrance can only be accessed with a hotel room key card. With this in mind new arrivals may need to seek assistance from a member of door staff or by telephone upon arrival. Both entrances open into the hotel lobby.
Circulation
The Waldorf is a grand historic building with an abundance of original architectural features. Despite the age of the building there is wheelchair access to all areas. There are a number of levels within the main public areas which can be accessed via a platform lift. There is only one area where a platform lift is not available, which is the Homage Patisserie. There are two steps into the Patisserie which can be accessed via a portable ramp. Alternatively guests can be served in the adjacent lounge area situated in the lobby.
Reception
There is a large reception counter which is the main feature of the hotel lobby. The counter is not accessible and therefore staff will offer assistance on the customers side of the counter or at one of the nearby seating areas. The reception counter has an induction loop. The Concierge is located opposite to reception and again staff are on hand to offer assistance as the counter is not of an accessible height.
