Accommodation
There are eight accessible rooms all of which are located on the second floor and accessible via the lifts. There are two rooms with interconnecting rooms and all rooms have accessible ensuites with a bath. There is one room which has a fixed hoist covering the bedroom and the ensuite. The rail covers the bath and the toilet.
Car Parking/Drop Off
There is a private car park at the hotel which is located in a basement area. The car park is not step free and there are no accessible spaces within the car park. There are however accessible parking spaces located directly in front of the main entrance. There are 3 spaces and if these are full the hotel will park your car in the basement free of charge. The drop off point is immediately outside of the entrance. There is a short route from the accessible spaces across the front forecourt to the entrance. There is a single kerb in front of the hotel which has a ramp for level access.
Public Transport
Gloucester Road is the nearest tube station located within 5 minutes of the hotel. This is not a step free station. There is also a bus stop located close to the tube station on Gloucester Road. There is level access from the bus stop to the hotel.
Access into Hotel
There is level access from Cromwell Road via a level pavement. Access via the front forecourt will necessitate the use of a small ramp onto the pavement area. The main entrance is a large revolving door. This is suitable for wheelchair users although there is a secure pass door to the side of the entrance which could be used with prior arrangement. The entrance leads directly into the main reception lobby with both the Concierge and Reception desk within the immediate vicinity.
Circulation
There is step free access to all areas within the hotel and all floors can be accessed by lift. There is good lighting and a good level of visual contrast throughout. All areas are identified by signage. Supplementary directional signage is positioned in strategic locations throughout. The majority of the main public areas are open plan. Where there are doors these are held open on magnetic openers.
Reception
There is a large reception counter which is the main feature of the hotel lobby. The counter is not accessible and therefore staff will offer assistance to the customers at the side of the counter or at one of the nearby seating areas. The reception counter has an induction loop. The Concierge is located opposite to reception and again staff are on hand to offer assistance as the counter is not of an accessible height.
Bars
There are two bars located within the hotel. corsortia is located to the far side of the reception lobby and has a dedicated seating area and also additional seating around the hotel lobby. corsortia offers a range of hot and cold drinks and a bar menu. A full table service is in operation. The seat and tables are offered in a range of styles to suit all users. consortia is a spacious, well lit area with minimal background music. The Tavern Pub is on ground level located close to the lift lobby. The Tavern is open from late afternoon and is a themed bar which also has a bar menu. The bar is lively and plays live sports or music. The bar counter is not of an accessible height but staff assistance and table service is available. The bar can be dark in places and the toilets within the bar can only be accessed via the stairs. The nearest accessible toilet is on the first floor via the lifts. There is a range of tables and chairs to suit all users.
Restaurants
There are two restaurants in the hotel, consortia is located on level access from the Reception lobby. The restaurant is in an open plan environment and seating extends around the outside of the reception lobby. There is a raised area within the restaurant but a ramp is available. consortia is well lit and has a low level of background music. The restaurant operates a full table service. There is a range of tables and chairs to suit all users. The Forum Room is located on the first floor and can be accessed from reception via the lifts. The restaurant has a self service counter which is mostly accessible, the restaurant also operates a full table service. The restaurant is well lit with clear accessible widths and a range of seating and tables to suit all users.
Health Club
There is a small fitness room which is located on the Mezzanine floor of the hotel. This can be accessed via one lift only within the lift lobby, which is signed accordingly. The fitness room is on level access and has a single door leading into the room which requires an access card from reception. There is a range of weights and cardiovascular equipment available. There is a male and female toilet on this floor and the nearest accessible toilet is on the first floor.
Business Facilities
There is a small business centre located on the ground floor close to the lift lobby. There is a small lip on the threshold when entering the business centre. There is member of staff on duty at all times. The workstations are at an accessible height. The main conference centre is located on the first floor and can be accessed via the lift. The conference centre has a range of room of varying sizes. There is a reception area which has an induction loop and there is a good level of staff assistance. There is good access to and into all of the rooms and there is a spacious breakout area with seating and a beverage station. There are toilets within the conference centre which include a male and female toilet and a unisex accessible toilet.
Staff: Languages spoken
The hotel has a good compliment of staff with a good level of awareness of the facilities offered. Staff assistance is available throughout the hotel and there is a range of languages spoken including: Afrikaans, Arabic, Catalan, Dutch , English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, and Turkish. It is advisable to check with the hotel in advance should a particular language be required.
