Accommodation
There are four accessible bedrooms (103, 105, 107 and 109) which are all located on the first floor close to the lifts. Rooms 103 and 105 have interconnecting rooms. All of the bedrooms have accessible ensuites with a bath.
Car Parking/Drop Off
There is a small car park at the hotel which is on a first come first served basis. The car park can be accessed from Berkeley Street. The car park has one accessible space which is the closest space to the hotel entrance. There is a short route from the space to the entrance via a level courtyard.
Public Transport
There is a bus stop and tube station (Green Park) on Piccadilly and a further bus stop on Berkeley Street. Owing to the pavement arrangements there is currently no route that is suitable for a wheelchair user.
Access into Hotel
The hotel entrance is approached from Berkeley Street. Whilst there is level access from the pavement on Berkeley Street care should be taken as the pavement narrows to 650mm. There is a kerb of 130mm which make this route unsuitable for wheelchair users, parents with pushchairs and the visually impaired. The entrance has a ramp providing level access from the car park and there is a pavement in front of entrance which would constitute as a step. The entrance has a revolving door and a single automatic door. The automatic door is activated via a door control, located to the right of the door at an accessible height.
Circulation
Once inside the hotel all areas are on level access. The bar and restaurant are located close to reception. The meeting rooms and accessible bedrooms are accessible via one of the lifts located next to reception. All areas are bright and spacious and have a good level of circulation.
Reception
The reception is located a short distance from the entrance, within a bright and spacious lobby. The reception counter is 1200mm high and therefore would be unsuitable for a wheelchair user. There is a lower desk within the lobby where a member of staff could assist a wheelchair user. There is a concierge opposite reception and seating close by in the lobby area. Induction facilities are available at reception and concierge. Male and female toilets are located within the reception lobby. The accessible toilet is located on the first floor.
Bars
Nightingales bar and lounge is on level access from the reception lobby. The bar and lounge share the same entrance as the restaurant and during business hours the entrance doors are held open. The bar is on a raised area however there is a full table service in operation. The bar is well lit and there it a range of tables and chairs to suit all users. An induction loop is available at the bar.
Restaurants
Nightingales Restaurant is accessed through Nightingales Bar and Lounge which can be found next to the reception lobby. The restaurant has a full table service in operation and during breakfast there is assistance available for the self service counters. The tables within the restaurant have a clearance of 680mm and therefore may not be accessible to all users. An alternative height table can be made available if required. The restaurant has a good level of lighting and circulation.
Business Facilities
There are two meeting rooms available. The larger of the two rooms is located on the first floor and the smaller room on the seventh. Both rooms are accessible by lift. The rooms can be arranged in a number of formats with the largest room accommodating up to 100 people in a reception style. The accessible toilet is located next to the meeting room on the first floor. A portable induction facility is available for use within either room.
Staff: Languages spoken
The hotel has a good compliment of staff available to provide assistance. A number of languages are spoken at the hotel which include: Afrikaans, Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. It is advisable to contact the hotel in advance should a specific language be required.
