The Weelhead Sike park and picnic area overlooking Cow Green Reservoir is a the end of a public road accessed from the B6277 at Langdon Beck. Its surface consists of compacted and loose stone.
Cow Green Nature Trail
Moor House - Upper Teesdale is a National Nature Reserve in the Northern Pennines and the Cow Green Nature Trail begins by parking at the Weelhead Sike Car park. The route distance is approximately 2.5km.
There are Information Boards adjacent to Weelhead Sike Car Park with arrow boards showing entrance to the Cow Green Nature Trail.
Main pathway is wide enough for visitors to pass and stays the same width for the entirety of the trail. At intermittent points, the pathway undulates through the Reserve with varying degrees of steepness.
There is a disused mine shaft close to the main pathway. There are signs warning users of the Reserve to stay on main pathways at all times.
