Station

Nottingham station is a historic building and as such has done well to make every platform accessible for wheelchair users, people with mobility impairments, parents with pushchairs and people with large luggage.

Platforms

Access to all platforms is via a lift or stairs.  Platforms 1, 2 and 3 are together with platform 2 located at the end of platforms 1 and 3.  This is 230 metres from the lift and stairs.  Platforms 4 and 5 are together, and platform 6 is separate.  There is a footbridge which provides stepped access to all platforms from the Tram on Station Street, and stepped access to platforms 1 to 5 from the main car park on Queens Road.  There is level access directly onto platform 6 from this car park. 

Ticket Office

The ticket office can be accessed from the station concourse. There is one low counter and 10 higher counters.  An induction loop and fixed chip and pin machines is available at each counter.  For passengers unable to access the counters there are two ticket machines within the ticket office.  Both machines accept card payment only.  Passengers who are unsure or unable to use these services or those who require assistance with their journey should contact the station in advance of travelling on:

Arriving and Departing the Station

The station has 3 entrances.  The main entrance which is the most direct route into the station concourse is on Carrington Street.  There is a further step free route via the car park on Queens Road.  This entrance provides access onto platform 6.  The station concourse can be accessed via a lift.   The final entrance is on Station Street either via a footbridge from the Tram or at street level.  Both routes encounter steps.  There is a taxi rank immediately outside the main entrance on Carrington Street, and drop off point adjacent to the taxi rank.  There is a large pay and display Car Park on Queens Road and a smaller short term car park near to the main entrance on Carrington Street.  Both car parks have accessible spaces near to the respective entrances.

  • A unisex accessible toilets and baby change is located on platform 1 and 5.

Nottingham Tram station can be accessed from any platform via the footbridge.  There is however no step free route.  Level access to the Tram through the main entrance on Carrington Street and then onto Station Street where there is a lift to the Tram platform.  This is approximately 200 metres from the train station main entrance and on a moderate gradient.
