Sheffield station has recently undergone an extensive programme of refurbishment, and now combines modern facilities with a good level of accessibility for wheelchair users, people with mobility impairments, parents with pushchairs and people with large luggage.
There is direct access from the station concourse to platform 1. There is a footbridge linking all other platforms with the station concourse and Tram. Access to platforms 2 to 8 and City Tram is via Lift or Steps.
The ticket office can be accessed from the station concourse. An induction loop and portable chip and pin machine is available at each counter. For passengers unable to access the counters there are 3 ticket machines within the station concourse which accept card payment only. Passengers who are unsure or unable to use these services or those who require assistance with their journey should contact the station in advance of travelling on:

Arriving and Departing the Station
The station has 4 entrances, 3 of which provide level access into the station concourse. The fourth entrance is from the City Tram via the footbridge. This links all platforms with the station concourse.
There is a taxi rank and a drop off point immediately outside the station concourse. There is a car park with accessible parking within the main station building which provides step free access from the car park to the station concourse entrance.
The Tram can be accessed from any platform using either lifts or steps to the footbridge.
There are Male, Female and Unisex Accessible toilets in the main concourse There are additional Male, Female toilets on platform 3 and 5. Platform 5 also has a Unisex Accessible toilet.
