Access in Summary
There are good public transport links close to the Hotel. The Queensway London Underground Station is approximately 250 metres away serving the Central Line, and buses stop even closer along Bayswater Road.
The Hotel benefits from a Customer Car Park located to the rear and also beneath the building. Visitors should note that access from the underground parking area to the Entrance is via steps. Access into the Car Park is from Porchester Terrace. There are two accessible parking spaces on the street level parking area to the rear of the building. There is a level Entrance into the Ground Floor Entrance Lobby from the Car Park. It is also possible to drop off directly outside the Main Entrance on Porchester Terrace.
There are two steps leading up to the Main Entrance. Entry to the Hotel from the Main Entrance is via a centrally positioned revolving door or single inward opening pass door located immediately to the left.
There is an alternative Entrance providing level access into the Hotel which is located adjacent to the Hotel Car Park on Porchester Terrace. Entry to the Hotel from the Accessible Entrance is via two single inward opening doors that are connected by a moderate upward slope directly into the Entrance Lobby.
The Reception has level access to the Hotel’s key facilities such as the Bar and Restaurant which are located on the First Floor. The Reception Desk is situated immediately to the left when exiting the lift from the Entrance Lobby on the Ground Floor. A portable induction loop is available at the Reception Counter and can be used throughout the Hotel. There is a public telephone booth situated in the Reception Lobby on the First Floor. There is also a computer providing internet access which is located in a booth in the Main Reception Lobby.
Bars and Restaurants
The Hotel Bar is situated on the First Floor and is accessed directly off of the Reception Lobby. A range of seating is available and table service is provided. The Hotel Restaurant is located on the First Floor. The Restaurant is on a split level, however all services including the Breakfast buffet bar can be accessed without steps. Diners with mobility impairments are advised to reserve seating in the level access section of the dining room. The Restaurant can be accessed via internal steps directly from the Hotel Bar or alternatively with level access when approaching from the corridor along which the Hotel’s Main Function Rooms are located.
The Hotel has 174 guest bedrooms on 8 floors. All rooms can be accessed by lift. Single, double and family rooms are available with differing room standard and tariff. All guest bedrooms have En suite bathroom facilities. The majority of rooms have a bath with shower over.
There are two Accessible Bedrooms available. The bedrooms can be changed in layout to provide both single and double accommodation. Facilities include assistance alarms, a television with teletext, and an accessible desk area. Accessible Bedrooms have En suite toilet facilities as standard. The toilets have assistance alarms and grab rails. The En suite bathrooms have a roll in shower with a tip up seat. There are no rooms with baths offering transfer facilities.
Access to All Areas
A Passenger Lift is provided for access to all floors. Visitors should note that the lift dimensions may not be suitable for some larger mobility vehicles. There are stairs which can be used as an alternative to access all floors. Circulation around the Hotel is generally good with corridors providing adequate clear widths. Internal doors along the corridors have viewing panels.
The Hotel Concierge is located in the Entrance Lobby on the Ground Floor. Staff will assist with guests baggage and can help with travel arrangements.
There are general toilet facilities with the male toilet being on the first Reception Floor and the female toilet on the Second Floor. Visitors should note that there are no accessible toilet facilities at the Hotel with the exception of the two adapted bedrooms.
The Hotel offers a range of Meeting/Function Rooms. The room layout and seating plans can be tailored to suit individual requirements. The larger Function Rooms can also be partitioned off to provide alternative accommodation. Meeting Rooms can be equipped with standard items of equipment including overhead projection and flipcharts. Specific requirements should be discussed when booking.
