Access in Summary

Accommodation

The hostel has shared rooms or family rooms. The rooms have either four or six bunk beds. Each room has a small ensuite with a shower. Whilst there are no designated accessible bedrooms the four bedded rooms would be suitable for an ambulant disabled person.

Car Parking/Drop Off

There is no car park at the hostel. The hostel is located in a busy area and has no drop off point.

Public Transport

There is a good range of public transport with bus stops nearby on either side of Euston Road and Kings Cross/St Pancras International tube and train station also within a five minute walk. There is level access from all transport points. Care should be taken when travelling to the hostel as it is a very busy part of London.

Access into Hotel

The hostel entrance is located on Euston Road. The entrance has a secure entry system and requires visitors to speak via an intercom to the receptionist prior to entry. Assistance may be required when entering the hostel as the doors are large and heavy and there is also a raised threshold strip.

Circulation

There is a good level of circulation in the reception and lounge area and access to the lifts is step free via a ramp. The Station View Cafe is located on level access on the first floor, opposite the lift. The accommodation corridors can be restrictive in certain areas and assistance may be required.

Reception

There is a small reception situated to the left upon entering the hostel. Whilst the counter height is unsuitable for a wheelchair user, staff assistance is available. There is a portable induction loop available and there is a lounge area near to reception.

Restaurants

The Station View Café is located on the first floor opposite the lifts. The Café is on level access via a set of double doors. The Café is open for breakfast and dinner on an assisted self service basis. There is a large dining area which is bright and spacious and high chairs are available.

Staff: Languages spoken

This is a friendly hostel with a member of staff on duty at all times. Aside from reception and the Cafe all other facilities are self service. With this in mind staff are more accustomed with providing assistance. Whilst there is little in the way of designated facilities for the disabled the hostel regularly receive guests with disabilities and will accommodate their needs wherever possible. There are a number of languages spoken at the hostel, however, we would recommend that the hostel is contacted in advance should a specific language be required.
